About Us

DC Theatricks has been designing costumes for productions across North America for the past 42 years, as well as shows in the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Italy, Ireland and Korea.  Our multiple sets of elaborate costumes for shows like Beauty and the Beast, Shrek the Musical and Spamalot are shipped to schools and professional theaters year-round.  We were chosen to work on the world’s first student productions of Les Miserables with Music Theatre International and Broadway producer, Cameron Mackintosh.   DC Theatricks has also worked with award winning NY designers Fabio Toblini, Alejo Vietti, Tracy Christensen and Tony award winners Clint Ramos, Paul Tazewell, Gregg Barnes and Martin Pakledinaz. 

Broadway credits: The Public Theater’s Shakespeare in Central Park production of The Winter’s Tale, Russian uniforms & overcoats for Doctor Zhivago (Broadway Theatre) and tailored 1940's clothing for Allegiance, starring George Takei (Longacre Theatre).

Off-Broadway credits: Women Beware Women (Red Bull Theater), Bent (Flatiron Playhouse) and the World Premieres of Ministry of Progress (Jane Street Theater), Ernest Hemingway’s The Fifth Column (The Mint Theater), Pip's Island (Skylight Modern) and Joan of Arc: Into the Fire (The Public Theatre).

TV and film credits: PBS, A&E Networks, Emeril Live, Hallmark Channel, The History Channel, Witchblade (TNT), A Christmas Princess (ION TV), Ellen's Game of Games (NBC), House of Cards (Netflix), Hubie Halloween (Netflix).

Special event clients: Walt Disney World, Ringling Brothers Circus, Jekyll & Hyde Clubs, Big Apple Circus, Jose Cuervo and Captain Morgan Rum.

Custom mascot costumes: Nabisco Foods, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Buffalo Bisons, Eggland’s Best, Perry’s Ice Cream, Ted’s Hot Dogs, Buffalo News, Tops Markets, Hewlett Packard, Weichert Realtors and Independent Health.

DC Theatricks has also built custom costumes for a variety of theaters worldwide including The Julliard School, Metropolitan Opera, Ford’s Theatre, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Williamstown Theatre Festival, California Shakespeare Theater, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, American Players Theatre, The MUNY, Goodspeed Opera House, The Guthrie Theater, Boston’s Commonwealth Shakespeare Co. and Nationale Reisopera (Netherlands).

Celebrities that have worn costumes created by DC Theatricks include Willard Scott, Sherman Hemsley, Lorenzo Lamas, Jesse Martin, Barry Williams, The Bangles and Rick James.
