Aida Costume Plot

Description: 

This wardrobe plot indicates our interpretation of the costume needs of the production. It is intended to provide you with required costume changes and a feeling of the costume styles. Costumes outlined are in standard adult sizes-extremely large or small sizes may not be available. Also, specific colors and fabrics are not described due to new designs and availability in our stock (except where noted). Styles and accessories may vary.

Cast & Costume: 

Aida:

  1. White/Cream contemporary
  2. White loose gown
  3. Floor length purple dress, belt
  4. Add patchwork mantle of authority (large veil)
  5. Black long-sleeved knit sheath

Radames:

  1. White/Cream contemporary
  2. Red Soldier’s uniform w/ Nehru jacket
  3. Red short jacket w/ full red skirt
  4. Black pants, black tunic, sash
  5. Floor-length white tunic and robe
  6. Grey uniform jacket and pants

Amneris:

  1. Rust form-fitting floor length gown w/ matching headpiece
  2. Blue Satin floor length strapless gown (on stage change)
  3. Black sheer lace dress with hat
  4. Orange brocade dress with matching cape and hat
  5. Pink Halter gown with embroidered overgown
  6. Yellow gown with chiffon shoulder drapes
  7. Black long-sleeved sheath gown (add colorful sash War Room)
  8. Blue wrap dress and over robe
  9. White wedding dress, headpiece and veil

Nehebka:

  1. White/Cream contemporary

Modern Guard: White/Cream contemporary

Soldiers: Red Harem pants, red arm guard, head band, red armored skirt (optional red sleeveless shirt)

Nubian Slaves - Male: Tattered earth-tone shirt & pants

Nubian Slaves - Female: Tattered earth-tone dresses or tattered top & skirt

Mereb:

  1. Faded rust linen harem pants, gold long-sleeved knit shirt, rust top w/ braid, cap
  2. Change of shirt and vest

Egyptian Man: Caftan, turban

Zoser: Black pants, knee-length black Nehru jacket piped in red

Minister: Same as Zoser, but jacket is thigh-length and plainer

Pyramid Dancer: Minister jacket only

Palace Women: Strapless sarong-style knee-length wrap

Fashion show models: Bright showy gowns, wild styles w/ matching headpieces or hats

Pharoah: Long white tunic, robe piped in gold, white pharaoh hat

Exotic dancers: Belly dancer outfits

Sedan chair carriers: Slave outfits

Nile washer women: Orange or blue sarong skirts, solid tops and turbans

Bazaar merchants: Caftan and turban

Bazaar patron: Long linen dresses with sashes colorful head wraps

Amonasro: Slave clothing (add dirty purple/gold turban)

Strongest Suit Ladies: Assorted pastel satin slip-dresses with matching sheer scarves, tear-away towel wrap, turban

Handmaidens: Matching long tunic, belt and scarf
